After a huge year of sold out shows in 2011, Sugar Blue Burlesque's latest production takes you into the heart of the south to celebrate the music, culture & history of New Orleans, Burlesque style! 

From the bright lights of Bourbon Street to dark voodoo from deep in Bayou, the talented and sexy performers of Sugar Blue will take you on a toe tapping hurly burly celebration of life, death & everything in between. Your preacher (sorry, your MC) will be Reverend MC Magnus.

Based in Perth, Western Australia, Sugar Blue Burlesque is performance troupe reminiscent of the 1920s, 30s, 40s and 50s. They present a unique blend of classic burlesque and elaborate vintage costumes, with authentic vintage dances, circus, comedy, music and crowd pleasing theatricality!

Courses and Casual classes begin again on the week beginning the 9th of January!

After much anticipation and preparation, we are very pleased and excited to announce the first annual Perth International Burlesque Festival! Preceding the Australian Burlesque Festival, the Perth International Burlesque Festival will run from the 24^th to the 27^th of May, 2012, and will feature 4 days of shows, late-night parties,markets, workshops, and other exciting events to be announced soon – check out the website: www.perthburlesquefestival.com

Presented by Sugar Blue Burlesque, the festival is open to international, interstate, and local performers, and aims to both celebrate the local Burlesque community and facilitate creative links with international and interstate artists. Applications are open to all male and female Burlesque, variety,  cabaret and circus artistes, and are due on the 13^th of January, 2012. All performers are encouraged to apply – we would love to hear from all of you!  More information on applications can be found on the Performers page of the website.

Drag Kings and Burlesque Queens

Sugar Blue Burlesque is very excited to put on their moustaches and present to you their final massive show for the year, 'Drag Kings and Burlesque Queens'! Hosted by Fanny La Rue, this show will feature Captain Kidd, the winner of Vegas' Burlesque Hall of Fame, 'King of Burlesque' Title for 2011 and also the awesome, US boylesque star, Smokin' McQueen. The Sugar Blue peeps will also be bringing on some crazy new acts that will leave you completely titillated, entertained and maybe leave you a little sexually confused!

We are are also pleased to announce that this show will be part of the 'Movember' fundraising campaign for November, $5 per ticket sale will go to the foundation which supports Prostate Cancer and Depression Initiatives in men.

So, come down and wear a moustache or cross dress for this hilarious show. There will prizes for the best facial hair sculpture and cross dresser outfit.

Vintage Glamour Workshops are Full-day vintage style workshop and glamour photographic shoot,
brought to you by Sugar Blue Burlesque and David Woolley Photography.

Sunday October 30th workshop has a 50s Housewife Pinup theme, meaning there will be some sets, props and accessories available to create this cheeky and sexy look!
You will also get professional posing tips and advice from David Woolley, who guarantees that he can make every woman look like a Vintage pin up!
Recommended clothing: Lingerie, 50's Dresses, Aprons.

Black Market Cabaret brings you entertainment from the dark corners of town. This a show that brings you a variety of burlesque and cabaret performers from Sugar Blue and the greater performing arts community.

Watch out for this very sexy lady with hips that will hypnotise! Coco Poppin is an incredible samba dancer with a shimmy that is sure to shake you up! You can also catch this kitten in a cage dancing 1960's Go-go.

Clara Cupcakes

This is one lady who's good with her hands - be it baking a tray of her famous kitsch cupcakes or twirling a paper fan in her signature Japanese Geisha act. She's a knockout with those hips too - don't miss her astonishing hula hoop act! The Queen of Cute, Clara's mischievous smile is irresistible, not to mention those va-va-voom curves! Dancer, diva, retro glamour puss, Clara Cupcakes was born for burlesque.
